Job Description
Job Purpose
Responsible for securing optimal service performance, capacity utilisation and distribution of resources through continuous end-to-end adaptation of the design, applications, content, infrastructure and customer equipment (M2M, legacy devices) to Radio Access Technologies, i.e., GERAN, UTRAN, E-UTRAN and NG-RAN to improve the overall service quality of experience and ensure business consistency of network performance in line with international standards and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Carries out routine cluster drive tests for the entire GERAN, UTRAN, LTE and and NG-RAN radio network
- Checks all Key Performance Indicators for verification and optimization and recommends necessary actions.
- Checks BSC performance trends, report and takes remedial action of any network challenges observed.
- Carries out site transmission network audits, produces reports and takes remedial action.
- Carries out KPI tracking (CSSR, CDR) and generate script to resolve challenges.
- Provides input to planning for creation of coverage and capacity solutions.
- Participates in acceptance tests for RAN nodes (PATs).
- Carries out initial tuning of new network nodes.
- Attends to Worst Performing Cells and creates scripts and IWOs to resolve the same
- Produces and analyses performance reports and take necessary remedial action where necessary.
- Carries out regular site audits and performs basic RF changes on radio sites (azimuth, mechanical tilts etc)
- Attends to customer complaints using available remote access tools or using drive test tools on customer visits when necessary
- Ensures that third party teams comply with the company SHE policy.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- 6 O Levels Including Mathematics, Science and English.
- 2 A Level passes
- Diploma in Telecommunications, Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or equivalent
- Relevant post graduate or vocational qualification will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar or related environment.
